1927 Mi Cabaña, his first famous song was written. 1930's Makes up Conjunto Aurea with Ramon(Moncho) Chavez,  Eduardo  Marichal (Turquina) and Hector Miranda.
1935 MarriesAurea Hernandez Lloret.
1930's Builds house at Rafols Street,Quebradillas, P.R.
1936 Daughter Aurea Iris was born.
1938 Son Guillermo was born.
1939 (aprox.) Elena Estrada records two GVL Songs: Recordacion and No Me Hables Mas. GVL and Luis Emilio Berios perform as guitarists in the recording.
1940 (approx) Parents Maria and Rafael divorce.
1940 Son Rafael was born.
1942 Daughter Aurea Iris killed in automobile accident.
1943 Daughter Maria del Carmen born.
1940's Is guitarrist/singer at El Chico mexican nightclub (New York - photo below).

1945 Awarded scholarship to study music at  Mexico.
1946 (approx.) Mother Maria dies.

1960's Pablo Elvira records LP of his music.
1969 GVL, with his song Genesis, wins Primer Festival de la Musica Latina Del Mundo, where  American and European countries competed at Mexico City with 100 songs. This festival was broadcast live throughout the world and is considered among the most successful popular music competitions ever. Never had GVL competed in a music competition before.
1970's 2 hour television special made atGuaynabo home.
1980's  Writes daily column for El Voceronewspaper.
1980's "Marzo" novel published.
1980's Book "Asi Hablara Jesus" published.
1984 Concert of GVL music at Centro De Bellas Artes.
1986GVL Para La Historia record issued.
1990's  Revised edition of book "Marzo"published.
1993 GVL dies at Pavia, San Juan, P.R.
1994 First wife Aurea dies at Quebradillas.
